Pearson Conservatory in St Georges Park

I have always said (and will always say) that St Georges Park has the potential to be Port Elizabeth's own Central Park.  Somewhere locals can go to relax and take part in activities.  Pity most people don't go there because of the preconception that its a dangerous place.  I snapped this picture of the Pearson Conservatory on a visit to the park with the St Dominic Priory grade 6's and gave it a slight HDR touchup to enhance it.

  1. That is a really nice park and I loved the Conservatory.

  2. There used to be beautiful and rare plants, a water feature that was a "mini-river",and pond for KOI with a small fountain. The variety of plants, the pond and the water features were removed in the restoration. While the structural work itself may have been done, the conservatory has lost the glory it once had.

It is sad, but the honest truth is that the garden isle in any Builders Warehouse franchise will be more impressive than here, post-restoration.
